| Call for valiant volunteers!
With a highly successful conference
in Malaysia now behind us, IABES is seeking offers for hosting the
next International Conference of Butterfly Exhibitors & Suppliers
(ICBES) in 2011. Following the progression of past conferences,
proposals from North America and Africa would be especially appreciated
though all ideas will receive the committee’s full attention.
For more information about hosting
a conference, please contact Gerlinde Blaese, chairman, IABES
Conference Committee, at mgblaese@web.de.
The deadline for proposal submissions
is 15 June 2010.
|
| A proposal should outline the proposed
structure of the conference (pre-conference tour, days for the conference,
post conference tour, if any), hotel accommodations, approximate
cost to attend the conference and accompanying living expenses (hotels,
unincluded meals, etc.). The proposed format is 4 days conference,
2 days of discussions and 2 days of local sightseeing. The the post-conference
is purely cultural, historical, etc.
The conference committee would need to have sufficient
information to weigh the respective proposals. Specifically:
- Dates
- Proposed conference program: pre-conference, conference and
if there is one, post-conference.
- What would a trip to to the proposed place have to offer
delegates aside from the conference itself?
- Estimated costs. (We can provide an Excel spreadsheet that
may help you in this regard by separating fixed and variable
expenses).
- Hotel and its related costs.
- Capacity for up to 80-90 delegates.
IABES can help out with advice and communications (invitations and
ICBES marketing in the Flutterings, etc.).
